Marie in 1942
June 2012
16 x 20
Oil on Nature Core Paint Board

I found a digital copy of a 1942 glamour photo of my sister-in-law, Marie Kilgore. She had it taken at a photo studio, and Earl took with him when he was deployed to the South Pacific. It was sepia tone so there was no color reference. I remembered the colors of the dress she was wearing, and the hair and skin tones were painted from memory. The painting received Honorable Mention in Irving Art Connections 12th Annual Exhibit October 2012.
